To Drop Kerbs In Woodloes

We the undersigned petition the council to arrange for the installation of dropped kerbs on specific roads, paths and intersections within the Woodloes Estate in Warwick. This has been a longstanding issue, and the absence of accessible kerbs poses significant challenges for residents with mobility concerns, including elderly individuals, disabled persons, and families with prams.

The lack of dropped kerbs in key areas across the Woodloes estate makes it difficult for those with mobility issues to safely navigate sidewalks and cross roads. Many residents rely on wheelchairs, mobility scooters, walking aids, or prams, and the current infrastructure restricts their safe and comfortable movement through the community. This issue has been a barrier for some time, impacting our neighborhood’s accessibility and inclusion.

Request for Action
We respectfully request that the Council conduct an accessibility assessment of the Woodloes estate and prioritize the installation of dropped kerbs at key crossing points. Specifically, we urge the Council to consider installing dropped kerbs on intersections outlined in the attached documentation.

These locations have been identified by residents as areas where safe and accessible crossings are especially needed.

Impact and Benefits
Installing dropped kerbs at these key locations will:

- Enable safer and easier navigation for residents using mobility aids, wheelchairs, or prams.
- Promote a more inclusive and accessible community environment for all.
- Improve safety for everyone, including children and elderly pedestrians.

By addressing this issue, the Council will demonstrate its commitment to supporting the needs of all residents and enhancing quality of life within the Woodloes community.

We, the undersigned, urge you to consider this request as a matter of priority and work with our community to improve accessibility in the Woodloes estate.
