improving Resident Parking on Kennan Avenue and Sargeaunt Street

We the undersigned petition the council to reassess the parking situation along Kennan Avenue and Sargeaunt Street, Leamington Spa. We call for an extension of the street parking permit area to include Kennan Avenue, and the few parking spaces on Sargeaunt Street, so as to restrict non-residents' parking to 2 hours

Current parking restrictions on neighbouring roads, such as Bury Road and Flavel Crescent, have been effective at preventing inconsiderate parking, particularly by train station users avoiding paying for parking.

Residents in and around Kennan Avenue have raised a number of concerns around the current parking situation:
Pavements are frequently blocked, with pushchairs and users of wheelchairs and mobility scooters being forced to use the middle of the road. This is dangerous.
Excessive parking in the area has led to an increase in inconsiderate parking, at times risking blocking access to emergency service vehicles.
While welcome, the implementation of the L7 street parking permit on Bury Road and Flavel Crescent has largely acted to shift the problem onto surrounding roads. Kennan Avenue and Sargeaunt Street are still close enough to Leamington train station to be attractive free parking for users, and yet don't have comparable parking restrictions.

We call on Warwickshire County Council to act swiftly to alleviate these issues by implementing comparable parking restrictions on Kennan Avenue and Sargeaunt Street as already exist on Bury Road.
