Planting native trees, such as Rowan, along Main Street, Wolston, will improve air quality, support local wildlife, and enhance the area's visual appeal. Trees absorb rainfall, reducing runoff and the risk of flooding. They also stabilise the soil, preventing erosion. Native trees are resilient to local conditions and extreme weather, contributing to climate resilience. Green spaces improve mental health and well-being, offering a place for relaxation and recreation. We urge the council to consider this proposal for the benefit of all residents.
