In line with the NHS Act 2006 (as amended by
the Health and Social Care Act 2012) and Local Authorities (Public
Health Functions and Entry to Premises by Local Healthwatch
Representatives) Regulations 2013, Local Authorities have the
responsibility to commission an Integrated Sexual Health service
which provides open access, confidential, non-judgemental services
including Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) and Blood Borne
Virus (BBV) testing, treatment and management (including HIV); the
full range of contraceptive provision; health promotion and
prevention.
