Warwickshire County Council were approached by
the Department for Transport who had set a side £47.5m
national investment to prevent more than 750 fatal and serious
injuries over the next 20 years.
Warwickshire Safety Engineering Team were required to submit a bid
to secure the £1.32M allocated. In this bid we highlighted
several measures such as improvement to junctions along this route,
pedestrian crossing facilities, speed limit reduction coming into
the town centre, signing and road marking renewal, there was also a
provisional cycle lane listed within the bid to support and
encourage active travel
