Approval of remedy for Ombudsman complaint
To approve a payment to Ms X and her parents,
Mr and Mrs B, in recognition of a fault in the care provided to Ms
X, the initial response to her by the care provider and in the
follow up and communication with Mr and Mrs B. The provider has
taken action to the Council’s satisfaction to address the
problems highlighted by the complaint and the Ombudsman supports
the Council’s decision that care centre can provide
appropriate and safe respite care to Ms X. The payment is to
recognise the distress to Ms X and to Mr and Mrs B and to reflect
the loss of respite care while the incident was being
investigated.
